About Caspenda
Financial calculators should be instant, honest and shareable. That's the whole idea.
Most investing calculators make you sign up, hide the result behind a button click, or bury the assumptions in fine print. Caspenda is the opposite: open the page, see the number, and know exactly where it came from.
Why "Caspenda"?
Caspenda is a coined word — built from the sound of "compound" and "pending": money that waits, and while it waits, grows. We made the name up on purpose. A name with no history lets us give it one: that time, not timing, is the most powerful thing you invest.
The math of wealth
Before you use a calculator, it helps to understand what it's really showing you. Here is the short version of how wealth grows:
- Compounding is the engine. Your returns start earning returns of their own. Small amounts, given enough time, grow into large amounts — and the curve isn't a straight line, it accelerates.
- Time beats timing. The single most powerful thing you can invest is time. Starting earlier with less money almost always beats starting later with more.
- Consistency is what you control. You can't control the market — but you can control how much you put in and how often. A steady, automated monthly contribution is the most reliable lever you have.
- The last years are the biggest. Most of your growth happens near the end of the curve. That's not a bug, it's how compounding works — and why the early years can feel slow.
Our calculators exist to show you this math with your own numbers: how much of the result is your money, how much is growth, and how it stacks up year by year.
What we believe
- Open → calculate. No forms to file, no accounts to create. The result is on screen the moment you arrive.
- Transparent math. Every tool publishes its formula and assumptions. If you can't see the math, you shouldn't trust the result. See our Methodology.
- Share everything. Every result is a link or a picture. Good tools spread by being shared.
- No data, ever. Calculations run in your browser. We don't collect, store or sell your inputs.
What we don't do
We're not a broker, an advisor or a news outlet. We don't sell financial products, and we don't give personalized advice. These are educational tools to help you understand the math behind investing — nothing more.
What's next
We start with three calculators — compound interest, dollar-cost averaging, and DCA vs lump sum — and grow based on what people actually use. Inflation-adjusted returns, savings goals and more are on the roadmap.
